The comprehensive provision of green skills is a priority in the global context, and most especially in Europe, where the Green Deal strategy converges with the commitment to an updated and dynamic framework of professional competencies (proof of this is the designation of 2023 as the European Year of Skills).
There is a rich assortment of European initiatives around the definition of sectorial competencies and their promotion through training centers and platforms with the capacity to develop them. One of the most relevant projects is 3LoEwhich establishes Centers of Excellence in Green Skills Learning and implements a wide range of vocational training and higher education measures related to the green economy, digitalization and entrepreneurship.
The 3LoE network has a node in Tarragona, thanks to the alliance between the Institut Pere Martell, the Departament d'Educació de la Generalitat de Catalunya and Agbar-Escuela del Agua as a collaborating company.
This 4-year Erasmus+ project will allow this public institute to become the first Spanish center of professional excellence in green economy, guaranteeing the training needs of professionals and companies, and strengthening the competitiveness of SMEs and their orientation to protect the environment and climate through innovation.
The meeting of the members of 3LoE in Rome on October 19, 20 and 21 made it possible to share the results of the experiences already implemented and to learn about the progress made in the different countries, while at the same time generating training for the teaching teams of the participating centers, universities and companies.
