AQUASeminar is the proposal of Escuela del Agua to address critical aspects of water and environmental management in a monographic way. On this occasion, the seminar focused on the climate emergency, taking place a few hours after the closing of the COP'27 held in Egypt.
The seminar provided a high-level view of the climate emergency, focusing on water and its management in the face of extreme events, but also providing diverse approaches as diverse as those offered by supercomputing or land management and continuous assessment with indicators and administrative hierarchies.
AQUASeminar was attended by Javier Martin Vide, professor at the University of Barcelona, Elvira Carles, director of the Business and Climate Foundation, Roberto Bilbao, expert from the Barcelona Supercomputer Center, Jorge Olcina Campos, professor at the University of Alicante, Juan Francisco Arrezola, head of service at MITECO and Tomàs Molina, European Climate Pact Ambassador.
In addition, the keys to drought management at Agbar, the experiences of cities in adapting to climate change and flood risk management plans were also presented.
The next AQUASeminar will be held in April 2023.
