Visitas Técnicas Levante

Visits to the various planned facilities (DWTP, WWTP, IDAM, operational control center, laboratory, etc.) will highlight the technical features that make them attractive in the eyes of professionals for their modern, efficient and environmentally friendly designs and operating models.

The program also represents a meeting point for industry professionals interested in sharing best practices based on professional experience.

YOU WILL VISIT:

  • LABAQUA: environmental consultancy and analysis laboratory for the industry and for the Administration, where the latest technological advances are applied.

  • La Marjal Flood Park: a benchmark in circular water economy and green infrastructure.

  • Murcia-East WWTP: Pioneering wastewater treatment plant in projects related to the recovery of nutrients from wastewater and their use as fertilizers, as well as in projects for the regeneration of water free of compounds related to the coronavirus and its use for irrigation of experimental crops.

  • Dinapsis Benidorm Gestión Urbana del Agua e Infraestructuras Verdes y Azules: national and international reference center in research and innovation related to sustainable water management.

  • San Gabriel anti-pollution reservoir: powerful infrastructure with a maximum storage capacity of 60,000 m3 that has significantly improved the area's overflow problems.

  • La Contraparada DWTP: facility that supplies 25 % of the volume demanded.

  • ITAM Valdelentisco: one of the largest desalination plants in Europe (annual production of 70 hm3/year).

AIMED AT:

  • People with degrees in engineering, technical engineering and scientific-technical careers (biology, chemistry, environmental sciences, geology).

  • Water professionals with experience in the technical areas of the integral water cycle.

  • Professionals responsible for water management in companies in the sector, industries or operating and regulatory bodies.

  • Professionals with experience in the field of business management.

  • Technicians and professionals with specific knowledge in any of the stages of the urban water cycle.

The main facilities to visit:

Dinapsis Benidorm

Murcia-East WWTP

La Contraparada Drinking Water Treatment Plant

DINAPSIS BENIDORM: URBAN MANAGEMENT OF WATER AND GREEN AND BLUE INFRASTRUCTURES

Inaugurated in 2017, it is the center of reference at national and international level in research and innovation linked to sustainable water management. In Dinapsis, the services and assets of the integral water cycle managed by HIDRAQUA are managed in real time. From this control center, Dinapsis is able to provide Benidorm and the province of Alicante with tools of great capacity to achieve excellence in service, especially at times of peak demand.

LABAQUA

LABAQUA is a service company that offers environmental consulting and laboratory analysis solutions to industry and the Administration, where the latest technological advances are applied and where quality assurance plays a fundamental role in all its lines of activity. Thanks to its equipment and systems of high added value, they offer specialized services that allow their clients to make the right strategic decisions, thus boosting competitiveness, innovation and the internalization of environmental and social policies.

FLOODABLE PARK LA MARJAL

This space, the first floodable urban park in Spain, is a benchmark in the circular water economy. Designed and managed by Aguas de Alicante, this park built in 2015 can store 45,000 m3 of rainwater. The park acts as a retention reservoir to temporarily store the accumulated volume of rainwater and at the same time as a recreational area for leisure and recreation of citizens, this dual function gives it unique formal and landscape characteristics and different from the rest of the surrounding green areas. During the guided tour will be explained its hydraulic function and the native flora and fauna of the marshes, typical of the Mediterranean basin, combined with traditional agriculture and vegetation typical of the Alicante mountains in an environmentally friendly work.

SAN GABRIEL ANTI-POLLUTION DEPOT

With a maximum storage capacity of 60,000 m3, this powerful infrastructure has significantly improved many of the overflow problems that used to occur in this area during rainy periods; at the same time, it has reduced the number of discharges to the sea in the spillways located at the mouth of the ravine. With this improvement, it has been estimated that 95 % of the overflows that were occurring until its construction can be avoided.

LA CONTRAPARADA POTABLE WATER TREATMENT PLANT

Main resource for the supply of drinking water to the population, which has its origin in the basin's own waters and is received through the Tajo-Segura water transfer infrastructures.

Aguas de Murcia manages the drinking water treatment plant (DWTP) La Contraparada, located next to the Segura River, in the district of Javalí Viejo, with a nominal treatment capacity of 2000 m3/h, for the supply of the city of Murcia and districts. With this treatment capacity, the La Contraparada DWTP supplies, on average, 25 % of the volume demanded.

MURCIA-EAST WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT

With an inflow of 492,846 h-e, the Murcia-East WWTP is the main wastewater treatment plant in Murcia and is equipped with advanced treatment systems. This plant is a pioneer in several projects related to both the recovery of nutrients from wastewater and their use as fertilizers (LIFE ENRICH project) and the regeneration of water free of toxic substances or compounds related to the coronavirus (DIRELMIVID project). The water obtained is used for irrigation of experimental crops and, in this way, the effect of water quality on them is analyzed.

VALDELENTISCO DESALINATION PLANT

One of the largest desalination plants in Europe, which supplies a part of this autonomous community, through the Mancomunidad de los Canales del Taibilla, and irrigation and urban supply for tourist-residential uses in Campo de Cartagena. This desalination plant uses reverse osmosis technology.
