Cutting edge facilities:
ETAP DE GRANADA
The water collected by the rivers of the Sierra de Huétor and Sierra Nevada is stored in the Quéntar (13.5 hm3) and Canales (70 hm3) reservoirs, and then transported to the DWTP.
In times of water scarcity, we have a series of emergency boreholes throughout the valley, from which water is extracted in a responsible manner so as not to overexploit this resource.
WATER INTERPRETATION CENTER
The carmen of the Aljibe del Rey, located in the heart of the Albaicín between the Zirí wall and the recently restored plaza del Cristo de las Azucenas, is the current headquarters of the Granada Water Foundation and houses the Water Interpretation Center. It immerses us in the importance of water during the Andalusian period, the usefulness of the irrigation channels and the advanced supply system of that time. In the same building is integrated the largest cistern of the Albaicín, from the 11th century, which lends its name to the building.
The center's information is integrated in different sections:
It is the largest of the Muslim cisterns of Granada, dating from the 11th century and has a capacity of 300 m3. It consists of four naves. At present, its vaults are inside the so-called carmen del Aljibe del Rey.

Granada Biofactory
The use of water by the population implies the alteration of its quality. It is in our duty to reintegrate it to nature, in the best possible state. For this purpose, there are biofactories (wastewater treatment plants, WWTP): Sur and Vados.
From the water cleaning, known as the "water line", a sludge line and a gas line are created. Emasagra is committed to sustainable waste management; it valorizes these waste products by stabilizing the sludge for the production of fertilizer applicable in agriculture and achieves energy savings in the treatment plant itself through the cogeneration of electricity from the biogas produced.
