The European Year of Skills launched by the European institutions in May 2023 is inspiring new initiatives that have driven us to believe that having the necessary skills empowers people to reorient themselves and successfully focus on changes in the labor market and in society. , ensuring that no one is left behind and that the green and digital transition is socially fair.
With the aim of adding initiatives to boost skills, the Water School, the Agbar institution created to share and transfer knowledge on water and the environment, has created a seminar that consists of three sessions on professional qualification at Agbar: the first on skills accreditation in February, the second on Dual Vocational Training in April and the last on continuous training (reskilling & upskilling) coinciding with the completion of the #yearofskills.
These sessions are designed to share legislative developments in vocational training, present the deployment of these initiatives at the sector level and generate the network necessary to promote this model transition in the coming years.
The initiative promotes the mentality of continuous training and professional improvement with the intention of creating quality job opportunities for all people by acquiring and improving the appropriate skills.
Skilled workers will have access to better job opportunities. Currently, more than 75% of companies in the European Union say they have difficulties finding workers with the right skills. Until now only a third of adults receive regular training.
Having the qualified talent to meet the challenges of our society brings several benefits: improving and developing the knowledge and skills of professionals in a sustainable way, ensuring the employability of young professionals, and strengthening the competitiveness of companies in the green economy.
